On April 3, 2003, while I was driving home from a gig late at night, a deer jumped directly into the path of my car, a 1992 Toyota Camry.  I hit the deer while going approximately 50 MPH.  The deer was flipped up over the hood and his body struck and shattered the windshield of my car.  The deer's body pushed the windshield about 8 inches directly toward my face, but it held.  I escaped without a scratch.  The car was totalled.

Somewhere in the world is an engineer who designed a car windshield that is able to withstand the force of a 200 pound deer striking it at 50 MPH.  I want to personally thank that engineer for saving my life.

You should have seen the other guy.
