Play fair with me and I'll play fair with you.  This is my attitude toward copyrights (actually toward almost everything.)  This website is here to provide information and fun to guitarists.  In order to provide information and fun, I open myself up to the possibility of people ripping off my copyrights.  Don't do that, ok?

This website, its contents, text, music, and art work are the property of Tim Berens, except where otherwise noted.

You are allowed to use the text and music you find on these pages for any personal, educational, or not-for-profit purpose.  If you distribute any of the material on this website for educational or not-for-profit purposes, you must include the author's name and the name of this website, timberens.com, along with the material used.

If you wish to use any of the text or music on these pages for professional or profit-generating purposes, you must contact Tim Berens for permission, or follow any of the standard paths (Tim Berens is a member of ASCAP) for using copyrighted music.  See Copyrights for the Working Musician, if you are unfamiliar with these paths.

For example, you may listen to the music, download and play the sheet music, use the essays for instructing students, include the text in non-profit guitar newsletters along with the author's name and the name of this website, link to any page on the site, etc.   You may not sell a book or a CD that includes any of this material, or include any of this material on a commercial website without the permission of Tim Berens.
